Seamus claims O’Neill Cup
On Tuesday last 34 golfers took part in the annual Dan O’Neill Senior Cup. The conditions on the day were challenging with constant rain throughout the competition . This has been the 11th year the competition with numbers growing each year. For the third time first prize went to Seamus O Brien (17) who returned a great score of 37 Pts. Seamus previously won the competition in 2009 and 2010. Seamus Nolan (15) was second on 36 Pts. Seamus Fitzpatrick (19) returned with 35 points claiming third place. The longest drive was won by Paddy Ryan and the nearest to the pin went to Peter Moran. F9 Paddy O Brien, B9 Jim Dunne.
With only one round left in this years Golfer of the Year competition two players are in contention. Seamus O Brien is leading with 380 Pts and Colm Hayes second on 320. The final round ( Sept Medal) is on September 17th.
Members please note that this years Club Tankard competition is on Sunday September 24th and the Champions is on the following Sunday October 1st.
